UGC & creator production

Compare the work behind a video quote.

A per-video rate tells only part of the story. Compare the cost of the same assignment, including separately quoted editing, usage fees and the time your team spends coordinating it.

This calculator uses your inputs. It does not estimate market rates, quote Zagged services, or predict creative performance. No signup is required.

Compare two production quotes

Use USD for every cost. Zero means excluded from the calculation; it does not confirm an item is included in the quote. Your entries stay in this page.

The same project for both quotes

Count the first hook version too: 1 means no alternate hook. A resized export is a file, not a new original video.

Agree what counts as a video

Ten original videos, each delivered with two opening versions and two aspect ratios, produce 40 files in this model. They still represent ten original videos. Comparing the cost per exported file with another provider’s cost per original would hide that difference.

Here, a hook version means a complete edited version with a different opening; the count includes the first version. If one quote includes those versions and the other charges extra, put the extra cost in editing or other external project costs. The calculator does not automatically multiply the production rate by the number of exports.

Use the same scope in both columns

Ask each provider to specify the concept, filming, editing, captions, opening variations, aspect ratios, revision scope and delivery dates. Record the same intended channels and usage term for both quotes. A zero usage fee is meaningful only when the provider confirms what use the base price includes.

Include the cost of missing work. A footage-only quote can still be the right choice if your team already has the editor and capacity to finish it. A finished-video quote can be worthwhile when coordinating those handoffs consumes the time you need for other work. Use the creator production brief to describe the assignment and the editing handoff to identify work that remains internal.

How the calculation works

External cost equals original videos multiplied by the production rate plus original videos multiplied by the additional editing rate, then project-wide usage fees, shipping and other external costs. Internal coordination equals your estimated hours multiplied by your internal hourly cost. Combined planning cost adds those two totals. Cost per original divides that total by the number of original videos.

Costs are entered in USD and calculated before any tax or other charge you have not explicitly entered. Amounts are rounded to cents for display. Scope counts affect the stated versions and exports; they do not establish whether a provider has priced that work into its quote. Missing costs are not estimated.

Use the comparison to ask a better question

A lower total does not establish better creative quality, a more suitable creator, or stronger campaign results. Review the actual work and ask who is responsible when a necessary shot, approved claim or format is missing. Keep cost and quality as separate decisions.

If you are adapting existing long recordings rather than commissioning creator shoots, use the clipping selection planner. For clipping production support, visit Clippin, our clipping business.

For creator production, explore Zagged’s UGC work and bring a brief with the deliverables and intended use. Confirm current scope and terms directly.
